VOLUNTEER & DONATION OPPORTUNITIES
Roof Above (formerly the Urban Ministry Center), who runs the Room In the Inn program, is calling on the community for help as Covid has forced a shift in their Winter Sheltering plan from the usual community sites, like our church. They are asking for help in providing lunches, cookies, and in-kind donations for 130 winter overflow nightly guests. These opportunities are not only great for groups but also great for families or individuals as well! Please consider how you, your Sunday school class, your small group, circle, family or friends can help this year:
1. Provide Lunch Bags and Cookie Donations: Please sign-up via the link below for the volunteer opportunity that you are interested in. Spots are going fast!
2. Donate In-Kind Needs:
DIRECTLY TO ROOF ABOVE: Feel free to conveniently donate through their Amazon Wish List and safely ship it directly to Roof Above. VIEW AMAZON WISHLIST
PUMC DROP-OFF SITE: Starting in December, drop-off any of the following items in our collection bins outside the Mission Center at the church.
NEW towels and washcloths
NEW men’s hats and gloves
NEW men’s boxer-briefs (M, L, XL, XXL)
NEW men’s socks
NEW blankets and pillows (from Amazon wishlist)

We are grateful to Chad Kelly by EMAIL (cdkelley95@gmail.com) for shifting from our RITI coordinator to organizing our church’s efforts to support Roof Above’s winter sheltering program. Feel free to contact Chad or Rev. Brandon Dirks by EMAIL for questions. Thank you for your desire to address the problem of homelessness in our city!
