Good Friday Service

Join us for Providence UMC’s Tenebrae service, which will include music led by members of the Chancel Choir and a meditative reflection on the last words of Christ. The service of Tenebrae (which means “shadows” or “darkness”) is an ancient service of the Christian Church, dating back to the seventh or eighth century and is characterized by the successive extinguishing of light, symbolic of Christ's suffering and death.
