ROOF ABOVE is the new name of the combined Urban Ministry and the Men’s Shelter. Its mission is to bring the community together to end homelessness, one life at a time. With the cold weather approaching, and Room in the Inn (RITI) not operating this winter due to COVID, ROOF ABOVE is in need of our support. Here’s how you can help build-up ROOF ABOVE's depleting supplies with: food, clothing and shelter items:
DO YOU KNOW?
+ PUMC October Mission of the Month Mission is ROOF ABOVE.
+ Charlotte has over 4000 homeless and the numbers are growing due to COVID. Many live in "tent cities" in the inner city of Charlotte.
+ Affordable Housing is one of Charlotte's biggest problems.
+ PUMC has chosen ROOF ABOVE as one of our 5 primary mission partners, and PUMC is supporting ROOF ABOVE by collecting donations this month for:
FOOD: Bottles of Water (for sack lunches)
CLOTHING: rain ponchos, new socks, and new underwear and boxers (medium to 4 XL)
SHELTER: Collect funds to buy tents/sleeping bags or anything else Roof Above needs.
DROP OFF ITEMS. You can drop off items in the bins placed outside the mission center (basement), Monday-Thursday, 9am-3pm throughout October.
DONATIONS. You can donate by sending a check payable to PUMC or through the website using the provided donation button. Be sure to indicate that your donation goes to ROOF ABOVE.
