Freedom School at Oakhurst Elementary is going strong as we are in the last three weeks of the summer learning program.  Thanks to all of you who supported this PUMC mission with your gifts of time, funding, and donations of books and snacks.  We have a new volunteer opportunity where we need your help.  Wednesday, July 20th is the Great Day of D.E.A.R or Drop Everything and Read where the scholars spend the day reading. We need volunteers to spend one hour, between 1 pm and 2 pm on July 20 reading one-on-one with a scholar. The goal is to have one volunteer per scholar with our commitment to Freedom School for 15 volunteers. This is a fun and meaningful way to help a young person improve their reading skills.
