Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 24 at 12:30 PM! Providence UMC is excited to announce that we will be supporting Rise Against Hunger (formerly Stop Hunger Now) by hosting a meal packaging event! For over 13 years, PUMC has partnered with Rise Against Hunger and helped package 337,450 meals. Now it’s time for YOU to help us add 10,000 meals!

Rise Against Hunger addresses those in immediate need of food and responds to global natural and man-made crises, including droughts, floods, conflict zones, and transitioning political situations. The meals Providence UMC has packed have been distributed in Haiti, The Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Angola, Swaziland, and India.

As a congregation, we can support the organization by funding and packing the meals that are delivered to these areas. Each meal costs approximately 34 cents, which totals to $3,400 needed for this event. Donations can be made by using the link below. We are in need of at least 40 volunteers as well. For those who would like to help package meals at the church, sign up below. We will be following safe COVID protocols and masks will be required.
