Heart Math Tutoring is in need of volunteers for Charlotte elementary students! Volunteers are needed for 1 hour per week in the all virtual tutoring program! Anyone in the U.S. who is over 18 years old is invited to tutor. Would you consider becoming a tutor? Know anyone who may be interested? (Sign up here!) No prior experience is required. All tutoring is virtual which means that you can tutor from the comfort of your computer, no commute time needed!
Here are some basics:
Volunteers meet with students over Zoom or Google Meets and use a free shared whiteboard app called Google Jamboard.
Volunteers use Heart Tutoring’s volunteer-friendly lesson plans, which now include a video guide of each activity.
Heart Tutoring staff members facilitate and supervise the sessions using breakout rooms. Program Coordinators provide real-time support, answer questions, and supervise student progress - during tutoring.
We provide training on the curriculum and support with technology onboarding. No math expertise or prior teaching/tutoring experience is required. Math concepts range from counting to single-digit multiplication.
