What a joy it is to be able to gather again to worship together during Advent and on Christmas Eve! Below are some ways to help us prepare our hearts during this season:
Advent Kits
Advent Kits are available for all church families who would like to have one. This year, the kits have items that are designed for all ages and are difference from last year. A few kits are available in the Atrium!
Sunday Advent Services
PUMC will be offering special services at 8:30 AM each Sunday of Advent. The informal worship services will be held in the Chapel and will include a Holy Service of Communion. We hope that you consider joining us as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!
Heart of Giving Cards
‘Love comes down’ this season when you make a financial gift to one or more of Providence UMC’s missions of your choice to honor someone special. Grab an order form from the Welcome Desk or an Advent Kit, fill it out, and return with a check to the church office. Then, take as many Heart of Giving cards as you’d like and send them to your honored loved ones proclaiming your passion to help others!
Welcoming Our Neighbors: Metro-Charlotte Haitian Refugee Initiative
Providence UMC is supporting the Metro-Charlotte Refugee Initiative during the 2022 Advent season. Each year, Providence UMC dedicates 100% of the Christmas Eve Services offering to make a big impact in an area of need. However, you may give to this fund all throughout Advent.
The Metro-Charlotte Refugee Initiative seeks to assist Haitian Refugees and their families who have recently arrived in Charlotte from our nation’s southern border. Donations will meet immediate and ongoing basic needs to get these families on their feet such as food; clothing; rental payments; furniture; cost of transportation to work, school, and community service appointments; and other financial needs.
For more information on the initiative and how you can donate, download the flyer below. You can also learn more about Providence UMC’s missions with Haiti by visiting our Missions page.
Queen City Christmas Angels
Queen City Christmas Angels is a wonderful opportunity for us to inspire kindness, generosity, and togetherness within our Charlotte community by granting Christmas wishes for underserved children.
