School Year Updates: Levelling Up Academics
We are excited to be back in our regular groove at What’s Next! All of our boys are settled into their new classes and are fully ready for the school year ahead.
Academics are a massive focus for us this year. Thanks to our new Academic Coordinator and Life Coach, we can now provide daily academic support. This allows us to focus deeply on each boy's specific classes, unique strengths, and areas of growth while helping them level up on our educational software, IXL.
Celebrating Big Wins: Carolina Youth Coalition
We are incredibly proud to announce that three of our boys were accepted into the Carolina Youth Coalition (CYC) right here in Charlotte!
Once a week, they spend four hours alongside other dedicated scholars who are working hard to attend a four-year college. Through CYC, our boys will:
Listen to inspiring guest speakers
Receive targeted SAT and ACT preparation
Get hands-on guidance through the college search process
CYC’s ultimate mission is to help first-generation students enter college and graduate completely debt-free. We have a few more boys applying this fall, and we can’t wait to see them succeed!
