The Rev. Teresa Dunn

Minister of Discipleship and Adult Education

The Reverend Teresa Dunn is a native of Charlotte and has served Providence United Methodist Church since 1998 working in Youth Ministry. Beginning September 1, 2018, Pastor Teresa will serve as Minister of Discipleship and Education. Pastor Teresa says, ” I am excited about my new role that includes Sunday school start-ups, adult curriculum, small group development, men’s and women’s retreats, and college ministry. I will also create ways for our young adults to engage with the life of the church and the development of a Disciple path to help them grow their faith as followers of Jesus Christ.

Teresa is married to David Dunn, also of Charlotte.  David is a teacher and coach at Myers Park High School and enjoys working with the youth at Providence UMC as a UMYF counselor and a mission trip crew leader.  They have two children, Chaselyn and Seth.  Teresa enjoys trips with her family, singing, and scrapbooking.

Teresa and David are enthusiastic about serving at Providence and feel blessed to minister to such a wonderful group of teenagers!

If you could choose to do anything for a day:

Next to my relationship with God, nothing means more to me than my family and friends.  My ideal day would be spent with them on a cool day at the beach.  I would also like to invite Shaquille O’Neil to join us.  I just think he is hysterical and his quick wit would really blend well with my friends and family.
