What We Will Be Doing:
-24 hours of girl time
-Attending the Girls’ Basketball game at Providence UMC
-Attending 8:30 a.m. worship service together Sunday
-Creating our own piece of pottery
-Small group bonding
-Special time with Michelle Icard*
*We welcome Michelle Icard, who will be leading our Large Group Sessions.
Michelle Icard is most known for her signature leadership programs, Athena’s Path and Hero’s
Pursuit, which give kids tools to manage their social environment in middle school.
Her programs are taught in four states and have impacted over 7000 students and 250 teachers. She is also creator of Michelle in the Middle, a website for parents of kids in or transitioning to middle school.
Michelle grew up outside of Boston, attending Buckingham, Browne and Nichols school in
Cambridge, MA, then attended Wittenberg University in Ohio where she earned degrees in English and Education.
She has also written curriculum for other national programs for adolescents, including Girlology and Girls Rock the House. Michelle lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband, 12 year-old daughter, and 10 year-old son.
